Birds

Birds are a gift to paint, using Chinese brush techniques. The action of water on rice paper produces the most exquisite effects for feathers. The subtlety of fluff and feathers is easy to achieve when painting birds. I had a lot of success painting owls and cranes using this method, especially a Tawny Owl chick who had been abandoned and was starving when found by my neighbour.
